Laundry Renovations on the Gold Coast

We renovate laundries across the Gold Coast and the Northern Rivers, usually alongside a bathroom. A laundry is the room that has to hold the most and show it the least. Where the machines sit, how the doors swing and where the bench lands decide whether it works every day or only looks like it does.

We plan the room around the appliances you actually own, then build the joinery to those measurements rather than to a standard cabinet size.

What’s included

What the work includes

This is the work we take care of on every job, and you’ll have it in writing before we start.

  • A measured plan of the room before work starts
  • Removal of the old cabinetry, trough and floor covering
  • Plumbing and electrical adjusted to suit the new layout
  • Waterproofing to AS 3740, with the certificate
  • Floor tiling and a tiled or panelled splashback
  • Joinery built to your appliance measurements
  • Benchtop templated and installed after the joinery
  • Installation of the fixtures and finishes you've chosen
  • Machines reconnected, tested and a final clean

Tiles, stone, tapware and joinery are chosen with you during the design stage, and priced once you’ve settled on them. That way you’re choosing what you actually want rather than working back from a list.

What it involves

How a laundry renovation actually runs

Every stage happens in this order, and you’ll know which one you’re in and what comes next.

  1. 01

    Measuring the machines

We measure your washer and dryer, and the clearance each one needs to open, before we draw anything. An appliance swapped later for a deeper model is the usual reason a laundry stops working, so we'll ask what you're likely to buy next.

  2. 02

    Strip-out and services

The old cabinetry and trough come out, and the plumbing and power move to suit the new layout. Laundries often sit against a garage or an external wall, which is usually what decides where a dryer can vent.

  3. 03

    Waterproofing

The floor and the wet wall are sealed and certified. A laundry holds a machine that empties fast, so the floor waste and the fall into it get the same attention a shower does.

  4. 04

    Joinery and benchtop

The cabinetry goes in against the finished walls, then the benchtop is templated to what was actually built rather than to the drawing.

  5. 05

    Fit-off and handover

The trough, tapware and finishes you chose go in, the machines are reconnected and run, and we clean up.

Finishes and materials

What you’ll be choosing from

Joinery to the appliance

Building the cabinetry around your machines rather than around a standard carcass size is what gets you a bench that runs the full wall instead of stopping short.

Benchtops

A laundry bench takes wet washing, hot irons and detergent, so the surface choice matters more here than it does in a bathroom. We'll walk you through what holds up.

Troughs

An undermount trough lets you sweep water straight off the bench. A drop-in sits higher and takes a deeper bowl, which suits a laundry that does a lot of hand washing.

Drying and ventilation

A vented dryer needs a path outside and a condenser dryer does not, and that single choice changes where the cabinetry can go. Racks and rails are planned in rather than added afterwards.

Common questions

About laundry renovations, answered

Most laundries we build run alongside a bathroom, because the same trades are already on site and it means one disruption rather than two. If you only want the laundry done, get in touch and we'll talk it through.

For part of it, yes, because the machines have to come out while the floor and the joinery are done. We'll tell you at the measure roughly when that window falls so you can plan around it.

Yes, and it's worth deciding early. Running the same floor tile and the same tapware through both rooms makes the two read as one piece of work, and it's simpler to order that way.

More questions are answered on the FAQs, or you can just give us a call.
